Frequency of Typhoon

In the Western Pacific, nearly one-third of the World's tropical cyclones are formed there. This makes the basin the most active on Earth. This basin also features the most globally intense storms on record.

Tropical cyclones form in any month of the year across the Northwest Pacific Ocean. Activity reaches a minimum in February, before increasing steadily through June, and spiking from July through October, with September being the most active month for tropical cyclones. Activity falls off significantly in November.

On average, there are 27 typhoons formed over Northwestern Pacific and South China Sea yearly, 8 out of them could be possible to make landfalls over China.
